Environmental Materials（MIRAIWOOD®）

MIRAIWOOD® is a wood-based biomass molding material that enables resource circulation. It was developed through joint research between Ryoka Sangyo and a public research institute in Tokyo. It is an eco-friendly wood-based biomass molding material created by upcycling wood dust generated by the Japanese woodworking industry. It can be used in standard injection molding machines. Since it consists of wood (51% or more by weight), it can be sold as a wood product. It is also treated as a wood product when disposed of.

Although it is an injection-molded product suitable for mass production, its wood-based nature allows for cutting and lacquering, enabling the creation of high-value-added products. Furthermore, it is a fully recyclable, genuine circular material. Through this product, we aim to solve social issues by effectively utilizing Japan’s forest resources and enhancing the sustainability of the resin molding industry and traditional crafts.
