SUSTAINABILITY

Message from the President

Since our founding, the Ryoka Group has handled products directly related to resources and the environment, such as paper, plastics, and rare-earth magnets. In an environment where resource depletion and waste disposal issues are becoming increasingly serious, we have been working for several years to contribute to a sustainable society by upcycling wood dust that had been discarded as industrial waste into resin materials and developing MIRAIWOOD, a wood-based material made from recycled manufacturing waste that can be reused to create a circular economy. We also implemented various initiatives as a company during the construction of our new head office building. These include obtaining CASBEE A-rank certification for environmental performance, installing accessible restrooms on every floor, and implementing contactless elevator buttons, as well as utilizing green loans for financing.
Sustainability challenges encompass not only environmental issues but also a wide range of areas, including respect for human rights and fair trade. We will continue to address these various challenges across the entire Group as we contribute to a sustainable society.

Ichiro Goda, President and Director
